Cheap but good
I got an Aquabound Edge spoon blade paddle last year and so far it seems very durable and I love using it. It has a fiberglass shaft with an injected plastic/fiberglass blade. I think they can be had for around $70.

I did the same thing.
I did the same thing a year ago and was having the same problem. I asked around and basically got the advice that you're already using: heat and patience. From what I experienced, I think that if the glue is in good shape and was done properly that you are not going to get them all off cleanly witho...

Air bag repair
I had an accident with a canoe air bag. While I was driving, the fill hose elbow broke off where it attaches to the bag and and then the dump valve completely tore out of the bag. I rarely use the big valve so I was just planning on eliminating it, but I cannot track down a supplier to buy that dang...

No chines
I think the Rodeo lacks the harder chines of the Vipers. Closer to a chopped Probe(I think).

I thought the same thing...
I also think that the proper hull to try out this new material would be one aimed at the more aggressive/experienced paddler. These are the guys who've been waiting for a material like this. More than likely it was just a matter of timing. They felt that they needed a boat of this design in their li...

Will vinylester resin stick to royalex?
Or is epoxy resin the only way to go? I am repairing an old canoe for a friend trying to squeeze a few more years out of it. Thanks.

Major Royalex repair question
I had some bad soft spots due to delamination in my ww canoe, one of which tore open into the foam core. I have removed most of the loose outer layer in this spot and cleaned away the degraded foam underneath. The hole is about 4"x6" and is at the chine of the boat. I plan on putting a glass patch o...

New to C1
I've been paddling whitewater in an OC1 for 4 years now and have thought about trying the kayaking thing; a little drier for play and not to mention the coolness factor. But, I still can't help but think that having 2 blades is just too easy. A friend of mine has a Dagger Outlaw and is thinking of g...

I paddled an impulse
Got tired of it after a season and went to a Probe 12 II. I absolutely loved it after fighting that Impulse for a year. Much quicker and easier to turn than the dagger. I currently have a viper 12, but would reccomend the probe 12 II to anyone seeking a nice OC.

Anybody see the Zephyr?
If I remember right the Esquif Zephyr was to be unveiled at the Gauley fest, did anyone catch a glimpse or paddle it? I'm real curious about the new Twin tex material.

Vynabond on ABS?
If putting down a d-ring over an area where some vinyl has come off, can you still use vynabond or switch to the goop method?

Even if...
Even if you get a spare royalex piece and trim the foam out for your boat, because the foam wouldn't be fully bonded to the inner and outer abs you wouldn't have the strength of the "sandwiched" layup. It would still be a soft spot in the hull, unless you could bond these layers with something that ...
