Re: Gearing up
What Aaron said: Johhead, where are you located? My suggestion would be to find other WW open boaters or even kayakers who live or paddle near you. We all accumulate extra gear and frequently are eager to loan out said gear to newbies not sure what they want. Also, this sport is most easily learned ...

Re: Slalom C1 Comparison? Vajda MM Max, One, iScream
Just some thoughts about 2 of the boats from what I read and have heard (I have paddled neither). Anything built for Michel Martikan is going to feel tippy as his boats are not built with stability in mind. The iScream should be a larger volume boat which will make it more stable/easier to balance a...

Re: boats for sale: Batmax C-1, Torrent C-2
My brother-in-law lives in Trumansburg and teaches at Cornell. Crap! I wish I was in the market. He is coming down this weekend and both boats look really good for their age. Definitely good designs for training and tooling around on rivers.

Re: Wanted - New Wave Viper C1
It is an awesome boat. Remember that anytime the James gets to a high/flood stage level, definitely give me a shout if you are willing to make the trip. It would be worth experiencing the James at high water/flood level in a Viper. Keep my cell number if you like. 8) Congratulations on purchasing yo...

Re: Ankle Blocks - Knee Pain - Fix?
Good responses here. Especially what Bob P., Sir Adam, and The Great Gonzo said about body alignment. So, what is causing the pain? Are you sitting lower? Are the upper legs tighter against the lower legs? Is there a bulkhead that is squeezing the knees more tightly? Are the lower legs/feet spread m...

Any video to share of the boat in action?
Congratulations to Andy on his win at the worlds. And thanks for continuing to bring new boat design ideas to the canoeing community, Gwynn!

Re: Slalom C1 for heavy paddler & relative beginner (in slal
The faster you are moving forward, the drag will pull the stern under more. I agree with Mike that the trim looked okay in those photos. Keep sharing the images and hopefully, a REAL slalom racer will speak his/her thoughts.

Hang around and talk with the canoers in your area. Where do you live?

Re: What rack for a camper shell?
Mike, I sent ya a text message about a Yakima "Y" rack I have if you want it. It mounts/dismounts easily to the 2-inch hitch and adds more length to load longer boats. I've used it for the Dagger Legend and your WWOC1 boat. Price is workable so let me know if you are interested and I can send you pi...

It is helpful (and listed as a guideline) to post price and location of the boat. The more information you post, including pics, the most interest you will receive.

Were you the one that got my yellow Sunburst? That should be a really good tandem boat for you and your young daughter. I wish I kept it for me to take my 9-year old daughter out.

It's been done before (long ago) and was not a good choice. The narrow, roundish hull made balancing very dicey.

Re: Vajda Martikan Slalom C1 For Sale (Never Been Paddled!)
I cannot readily find more information about the Martikan c-1 slalom boat. 4-meter boat means it is the older 13-foot, 2-inch model. Do you have any performance characteristics you could post about it? It is a pretty sweet boat.
