I wish the pool I go to was that empty!!!!!! :-?
But then again when you've got around fifteen kayakers coming for lessons, you need that many teachers, then everone else.

Yes Tom Foster's video sounds promising. I'm buying one from him as soon as it comes out!
"We designed 'em" is good, with lots of good footage, but it's not instructional at all, very little speaking.

I don't paddle a c-1, but I have never heard of wanting a low volume creekboat. I think people want to be able to resurface quickly after drops. I have heard many good things about the Dagger Mamba as a conversion, also maybe the Robson Finkenmeister. I've never heard anything bad about the mamba, f...

I have used the regular outrage quite a bit, and think it is a great boat, stable and quick, only I prefer a slightly more responsive boat. (the esquif spark). The Shaman is also good, excellent forward speed and glide, it doesn't have as much rocker as the Outrage, so doesn't turn as quickly. It al...

1) Ovation: I have not paddled it, but have heard it is not a great boat, also, it is no longer in production 2) Spark: Incredible boat-very good for river running and slalom gates-it's very fast, and it will teach the user to use bow correction strokes rather than stern pry's etc. One of my favorit...

Also, if that isn't enough, www.daveyhearn.com looks like it may have some good stuff. Haven't really checked it out myself, but have heard it has good info.

Yes, goggles and nose plugs will help an incredible amount for working in the pool. Especially the goggles as you can see what you are doing underwater. I think the problem I have with the handroll in an OC is that I am 14, and not very tall yet, so I have trouble reaching out accross the gunwhales ...

I have not paddled the Ocoee, but it sounds like it would be what you are looking for, especially since the Mohawk Viper is not currently in production---and most people who have them probably won't want to sell them as I've heard that people love them. Maybe check out a couple of the esquif boats. ...

I believe it shows him using a Mad River Outrage (The blue one), and an Esquif Detonator(Short Yellow one)---There are a couple of pictures of someone in an Ocoee. The Outrage is a great boat, stable and quick, but large compared to many newer designs. The Detonator is a flat bottomed boat that surf...

I'm sorry, in my last post I said "it is easier to exit the boat then to enter it" what I meant was that it was easier to exit then stay in and roll.

I understand the idea of not liking to be attached to the boat, that's why kayaking never apealed to me too much, as you have your legs under the bow deck of the boat. BUT I have found that in an OC1 with Mike Yee double thigh straps, it is easier to exit the boat then enter it, so if they are insta...

There aren't very many kids interested in oc1 from what I've seen.
I was at a slalom race in September, and there were 3 guys in my age group, me (14) and two other 16 year olds, as opposed to maybe a dozen or so kayaks (kids).

I saw a guy with a peice of the deck of an old kayak or c1 or something like that attached to the bow of his phantom, and it definatelly looked a lot drier after wavetrains or going through a hole. But I don't think it'll change rolling very much, as when you roll most of the water comes into the bo...

The Zoom and Detonator are more centered towards playing and surfing I think. Especially the Detonator is very slow, but is an amazing surfer, probably not the best running boat. The MR Outrage is a lot of fun, haven't used an ovation, but the Outrage is quick, nimble, surfs well when you need it etc.
