This makes me sad because I love the Detonator/Nitro (same boat different sizes), of course I'm barely holding the boat in the water at 145 lbs. The detonator is great in quickly moving water and in holes, as I have discovered my taste for thrashing at H ells Hole on the ocoee. But... very little tr...

A bulkhead saddle costs about $225. Esquif and Beluga both have one, and the beluga saddle is called the Appaloosa. Just remember that your cost will inevitably include the thwarts needed to hold the saddle down. I think this was mentioned, but I wonder if the sun during shipping and just sitting ar...

Well, the cool thing about the fly is that if you are full, you can lean over and a good bit of water will pour out. I think it's worth paddling the fly, makes things more interesting. But i still love the feeling of riding over holes and waves in a nice big canoe (I love my detonator, see my screen...

It seems like you were already out of your boat when you hurt your knee. When (if, ideally) I swim, I'm on my back and I always keep my toes above the water. I control my direction with my arms and my speed with my legs. I guess being on your back give you pretty good control, but I think you just w...

Memorial Day on the Ocoee
Just giving a shout out to those who were on the Ocoee this Memorial Day weekend. There were several c-boaters ripping up Hells Hole... including a Robson CU Fly. I also think there was a Savage Skeeter, and there were plenty of Mad River, Mohawk, Dagger, and Esquif canoes, too. I was in my Super Fl...

Looking for C-1 Play/Squirt
Just mildly looking for a c-1 playboat (i can convert if it's still in kayak mode) or a c-1 squirt. I've been leaning toward the playboat, because i have some exp. with it (unlike squirt boating, about which i know very little). I'm too tired to look through all the boats in here right now, but I wi...

I agree with talking to Eli, he is usually very busy but his schedule is posted somewhere on the web (http://home.rica.net/phelbert/bbb.html). Although his schedule is open then, you will definitely need to ask him if he wouldn't mind coming. Anyways, I'm all for said event. If you want to start adv...

The blast tends to be a pretty squirrelly boat... the paddlers are really close together making it difficult (horrible) to paddle in a straight line. However... it is extremely dry and can maneuver like a solo boat (that feature is its downfall, too). The learning curve can be frustrating. This is a...
