This is similar to a poll from 2003 that I believe only received 21 votes... hopefully more votes are available now, considering the current member list
Right handed, righty, although when I paddle as a lefty, I have more finess, because the right hand is the top hand.
Reason for righty? I think because of the flexibility and the brace. Crappy brace on the left...
Does "righty" mean that your right hand controls the blade angle, like in a K-1 (i.e. your right hand is on the T-grip) or that you paddle on the right side of your boat, in which case your left hand would be on the T-grip?
Pardon the ignorance.

[quote="jakke"]As I understand:
blade on the right side (T-grip = left hand) = righty
blade on the left side (T-grip = right hand) = lefty
At least I hope, bacause I'm a righty according that definition and ordered recently a paddle for a righty [/quote
How would a paddle be a "lefty" or a "righty" paddle? I thought canoe paddles were interchangeable, at least all the ones I've ever seen or used were...

You can use a righty paddle as lefty, but not at his full potential. Same the other way around.
Most blades do are symmetrical though. I didn't know about assymetrical canoe blades before ordering the profiplast air.
Ah, OK--that gives me an idea! I'll sell all my old paddles that I've worn out as a lefty paddler to righties as asymmetrical righty paddles! Think there's money to be made there?
