Maven stats and Images

Well, it's about time I posted these!

Length: Just about 10' on the nose
Width: 23" or so
Volume: Full cut is 30 gallons or so (same as a my Master Cut Acrobat, which is low cut for 185lbs).
Depth (e.g. height of cockpit rim)-7" (same as the aforementioned Acrobat-you'll notice that the volume was removed not only from the width of the boat, but on either side of the "turret". In this "full cut" version there is still a decent amount of volume in the far bow and stern. Cutting a little out of the hull (which is very easy to do) will enable lower cuts for lighter weight folks...such as myself

I'm 5'9", 160lbs+ right now, 32-33" waist right now, in case anyone is curious. The skirt is a Mountain Surf which also fits my Wheelboy, Cascade, and enlarged Viper cockpit rims. (as well as the Groove ).

The "other" boat in the images is a Master Cut Acrobat. 10'6" or so, 30 gal. volume (I measured that today as well, as I was curious). Good news for you, eh Mike? The volume distribution is definitely different though In the "hulls" image you'll note the Acrobat is sticking up in the air in the stern-that's due to the "beaver tails" you can see in one of the other images....







Outfitting is pretty much done, with the exception of the tweaking I'll no doubt be doing AFTER the pool session (and during ) on Thursday. Yes, AdkSara is exciting about taking pictures. Hopefully there won't be TOO Many of the hull....

That is a very nice looking boat - and only the first from the mold! We await the pool trip! Thanks for the pictures (the comparison to the Master cut Acro is a bonus) and effort!

So, the plot thickens Same volume as your master cut Acro? Interesting...your Acro is 10'6", my master cut is 9'11". I can't read the label on my boat, but the boat looks like it was re-cut. This could mean that a full cut Maven could possibly have more volume than my master cut Acrobat. Maybe I'll need a lower cut

Please get a fat guy (190lbs like me) in for a photo in the water...even if you have to hold his hand. Dern, that's a narrow boat

I'll certainly try to get someone in the boat, mike, but you know how hard it is to get someone into a "normal" C1!

I wouldn't stress over the width too much-it's MUCH more stable than your old wildwater boat .

Regarding the volume, I believe it also depends on where the volume is...most of the maven volume is in the cockpit area...which your legs will fill up rather nicely I suspect. The volume of the boats was measured with nothing but the outfitting in (and a minimum in for the Maven at the moment anyway). My lower legs (and part of my upper legs) aren't THAT big, but I'd guess they would easily displace 5-10 gallons of water, depending on your' size:) ). Basically, more of you will fit IN the Maven (due to it's cockpit shape, and tendency to keep your saddle height reasonable;) ).

Currently I'm planning on cutting 7/16" or so out of the one I"d like to build for myself, assuming Thursday goes OK. We'll see how things trim out...it may be that if I take that much it will be too low cut for me .

The other thing with Acrobats-there isn't a lot of volume in the tips...measuring the distance from the top of the cockpit rim (or the deck of the boat) to the hull will give you a better idea of volume.

Yeah, it could be tough to get someone in the Maven.

I'm guessing that the Maven has more volume at the ends than the Acrobats do. I'm thinking it will paddle better if the lack of width doesn't get me. Thanks in advance for the cockpit opening, that's going to be sooo much better than my Acro.
