Here's an interesting idea for Esquif. They ought to offer a "Craig Smerda Signature Model L'edge" based on how Craig has tweaked his. Wouldn't be much more trouble for Esquif than producing the wood gunwale model, plus might get more people in new L'edges since they won't have to modify them themselves.

And I agree--three cheers for Esquif for keeping the Prelude alive. I intend to buy a new one next year. Now if Esquif could pick up the Ocoee mold and start making those, wouldn't that be grand?

I read on another forum that Nova Craft might start making the Ocoee, or something very similar to it. No idea to the validity of this but you never know....

I can get secondhand Preludes and Spanish Fly's (and i have both) but I'm having great difficulty getting my hands on a L'Edge - new or used. I've tried contacting the UK distributor but have yet to get a response. :(

UK, Most L'Edges I know of in the UK or imported from Germany. Talk to Kelvin Horner, or contact bushpaddler.de directly and they'll sort you out for a L'Edge. Best excuse ever to go on an alpine-paddling-road-trip and pick up a L'Edge on the way ;-).
