around n.h. we have lakes that are drained down for the winter. this is a controlled release. each weekend in october we go to these small streams that load up real perty when the gates are opened. one member of our posse is a hydro-electric operater and has the keys to a couple dams around here. he'll sneak out a few handred cfs for a couple hours when thing get low. some people compare a few of these rare runs to riding a snowmachine down a trail. lots of paddlers show for these from several states around.
