I'll be there, assuming I'm still on the pro-leisure tour.

I'll be there, though only Sat & Sun this year, and maybe the following weekend. We need to get a large crowd over to Walden's Ridge this year...

Looks like my youngest daughter will be joining me....... sorry to say she'll be paddling C1.......I guess it could be worse, she could be paddling double stick. That said she's totally stoked about hitting some of the creeks down there..... H20 permitting! Thunder Head Prong, Upper Treemont, Lynn Creek Prong. Half The Stick.....Twice the Chick!
Re: ALF 2013 - March 10th-17th
First timer here. I'll be there from the first weekend through Wednesday/Thursday.
Hey, would it help to start a rider board thread?

For me; boating brings me closer to to something divine, and in a open canoe I'm 8 Inches closer.

Try KOA Sweetwater, I know that there are a lot of ALF people camping there! Price is very reasonable. There was still plenty of space left when I checked a month ago, I suggest you get on it as soon as possible! In terms of rivers there are tons! If you go to American Whitewater's website you can find some info on the rivers in that state. From what Carole Westwood has told me is that all you have to do is either talk to others at the camping to see what they will be running, or show up at Shoney's early in the morning for breakfast in Lenoir City, there will be a bunch of people there dividing in groups to run different rivers of basically any class you wish to do. What I've been told is to start with something easy at first because the creeks down there are very different than anything we have up here in the north. So if you're comfortable let's say in Class 3 here, start with a Class 2 down there.bôchamp wrote:first time.

You can look at AW, but there are so many you'll probably not remember them. Best bet is to talk to folks at the KOA in the morning and/or show up at Shoney's by about 9am. You'll find a trip there. Do what you are comfortable with, but remember, this is a good time to stretch and try new fun rivers and creeks - there will be tons of support on the water with all the boaters.bôchamp wrote:first time.

Hi Bochamp,
We will be a bunch of paddlers at KOA. Last year was my first year, I did not know any river or anybody there. I just showed up at Shooney's in the morning the local guys know what is running and they will guide you.
Where are you from In Canada?
We will be many paddlers from Quebec staying at KOA

Howdy all Canadians!
I see several references to Ontario, but I was wondering if any of our Quebecois friends might be headed down I-91 to ALF? I am still hoping to find someone to transport a Spark from Kaz to an Arkansan who has offered to pick it up for me. I'm happy to express my thanks via local brews or other options depending on your preference!
Thanks!
