Great pictures and great article. This is back when men were men, creek boats were glass, and the gnarliest creekers in CT were c-1ers named Bob and Jim.

You guys better be careful, or one of these photos will go in the guidebook . . .

Thanks for the links. I didn't know about that particular "15 minutes of fame". Jim used to search the contour maps looking for steep creeks for first descents. He probably still does - between Grand Canyon trips.

That was when I was young and stupid(er). :-?

I'm with GEEK BOATER. There's nothing like a cooler full of ice cold brewskis for an apres boating party. Better yet how 'bout apres rapid, or apres awesome surf?
