Nice looking waterfall. Where is it?

Re: 18m Waterfall Descent
That's Jim Coffee and is in Mexico but I can't recall the river.
Re: 18m Waterfall Descent
Ok, great, but OC is not designed for this, so its just flop down
Re: 18m Waterfall Descent
Kayaks weren't originally designed for it either...

Re: 18m Waterfall Descent
Haha... there is a bit more to it than just flop and drop.
To answer a few of the previous questions.
The waterfall is called la Cascada de Truchas. It is on a section of the Alsaseca River in Veracruz Mexico. I had been thinking of running it for the past 4 years but the water levels were never exactly right. The entire "expedition" is somewhat epic and includes a hike in, 30m rappel, a sketchy ferry, an even sketchier entry and negotiating some swirly boils to get exactly where you want on the lip.
Contrary to some other thoughts I believe that many of the plastic boats that are made today ARE in fact designed to run big, steep and challenging drops. I certainly would not have been interested in running it in the designs of boats from 20 years ago. Kudos to Jacques and Craig and other modern boat builders (Jeremy, Richard, Shawn) for designing "game changers".
