need photo of a glassed-in anchor

Can I please get some photos of tie-down anchors glassed into a composite hull? Preferrably some lighter duty ones, like for a bag cage rather than for thigh straps. Something using 1/4" rope might be ideal. Thanks! --tw

I use 1" webbing, both ends frayed. Saturate in resin, place where you want it, lay on 2 pieces of Kevlar approx 2"x4". Use brush to fully saturate Kevlar and cover with peel-ply. First, sand the area thoroughly with 36 grit.

Here is a shot of my water jug anchor. I like to see the frayed ends of the rope while I'm working & when I'm done.

I sand the hull till it gets fuzzy. Tape the center of the rope w/ masking tape, leaving the ends untapped so I can fray them. Cut a slit in s-glass patches for the ends of the rope to go through. Put epoxy on the hull. Saturate the ends of the rope & s-glass patches. Cover w/ peel-ply & work the air-bubbles out.

The next day, tie a length of bungee between the rope anchors to hold the water jug & go paddle.

The process is the same for small or big rope. I do my strap anchors the same way, only w/ larger rope & larger patches.
