C1 playboating instruction?

Post by mshelton »

Is there anywhere on the east coast that offers this?
Alot my butt-baoting buddies have taken classes and clinics for playboating and have come away with very positive results and I was hoping there might be someone out there giving lessons for us single bladers.

Valley Mill

I think Valley Mill in Maryland near DC would provide this kind of instruction for C-1 :)

THere is a c-1 boater in North Carolina that used to instruct named Berry Kennon, but I can't remember his web site. He is unbelievable. He used go live near the Nantahala area. You might ask around about him.

I think Mel Stewart, who rarely post here, at NOC knows Berry. Maybe Seth Chappelle could hold a "fundraising" clinic. Honestly, I've been happy getting pointers from PAC and David Good and Martin, but I'd shell out a few pesos for some lessons too.

Barry Kennon is the paddler that I mentioned before. He paddles for Jackson and by searching on his name you might find his site. He is one very nice person. 8)

I know it's not quite on the east coast, but there is also Liquid Skills on the Ottawa river!
MotorcityOC1 and myself are planning on taking a course there in late August and one or two more participants would be great!
