Well, I finally have a link to the Richmond Times newspaper pictures that the photographer had taken of me paddling on the James River (one was taken at "Pipeline" rapid during the downriver race and the other is after a workout session). If you want to view them, click on the link (if I can do this right ), then click on "Slideshow". You can jump to images "9" and "10" or simply go through all of them.

That "workout" picture is great. I hope you can get a large print of that.

Jees, nice pics. but.......
that no.12 pic looks like the Wier From hades! Do they really urge people to run that (it looks like there's something hovering on the edge in the pic)? It it's safe that must be a kick...

Hiya, Ric! That "weir" is Bosher Dam--about 10 feet in height. Nobody really runs it, though some kyackers with very low-wattage bulbs for brains have run it, and there have been drownings there (naturally, it IS a low head dam ). I have confirmation that a well-known, and highly respected c-boater (at least he was respected in HIS days! ) has surfed the wave that forms there when the river level is about 18 feet! Almost got arrested for that, too. And no, it was NOT Davey Hearn (this time ).
Now THAT'S a big surf.
