I paddled the CUfly a few times, and was lucky enough to take a few rides in a Salsa prototype last spring.
The CU Fly is more of a hole boat, cartwheels well, but slow, catching and staying on wa wave is hard, while the Salsa has been according to Paul Danks (OC! world champ 2005) been designed as a wave boat. I cant' say much about it's capabilities myself, as the outfitting was too tight for me (i was hovering 2" above the saddle) and could not really do anyything in it.
I liked the overall lines of the boat better than those of the CUFly.
I do however not know whether the production Salsa will be the same as the particular prototype I paddled. The salsa is not yet in production, so if you don't want to wait, for an OC1parkand play boat, you will have to get the Fly.

Personally, I prefer a C1 for park and play, no bailing after every ride!

Wait just a little longer on the Salsa.... it will be worth it. Fine tuning is done. :D Nothing wrong with the CU though. Certain features are better in either boat.

noc said they are getting some requests for the salsa. they were going to contact esquif and see if they can get some or one. 1269 dollars ouch. it looks more fun than the fly, little faster? any ideas of a better or cheaper route than noc to get one?

I know how to get one cheaper...

Wait about 3 to 5 years and one may pop up used(if they release the boat in the next year or 2).
