Are all the bits added to the canoe on Craigs outfitting page, thigh hooks, hip blocks and thigh hooks on the saddle home made or can they be bought?
I have a CU Fly and this system looks like it works really well.
Do the current freestyle boaters still use this system? Craig? Eli? Paul Danks? etc, or are straps lap belts and things like that a better option for Freestyle now?
I like the idea of displacing the water which is why this system appeals to me more than straps.
Never heard of Craig Smerda but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. His name almost sounds like some made up internet "handle"... anyways
Q#1 Home-made. I fit each piece to myself and how I sit in the saddle.
Q#2 Works well in a CU or any boat. The system is not limited to rodeo boats.
Q#3 Most folks are using the bulkhead system. You can add straps, etc. but it isn't necessary for the most part. The system should hold you in quite well. I can hang out upside down as long as I like.
