Royalex Repair Kit on Fiberglass
I need to install thigh strap anchors for my recently acquired Phoenix Seewum C-1. This is an older fiberglass boat. A couple years back I purchased a "Voyageur" Royalex Repair Kit, but I've never used it. I was wondering if I could use the materials in this kit to fashion my anchors. The kit includes: Royalex repair resin and kevlar cloth. Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks, Warren

Must be an inside joke. I do my slumming on BT.
I'm thinking the original poster will get a "real" asnwer from one of our glass gurus when they show up. The ones not down here in the parched deep south may actually be out paddling...
My own unedumacated guess is that the royalex repair kit's putty is probably some ABS specific material, maybe even consisting of ABS in a solvent (MEK?) that is designed to bond to ABS. I'd venture further to guess that it might not have as good a chance of bonding to glass as the same kind of resin used in the original construction would.
