Post by Mikey B »

Hey, I just noticed that Esquif is going to be offering the Spanishfly and the Prelude. They bought the molds and stuff from Pyranha.
What a company!!!! :D

very interesting news!
Maybe they flatten the bottom and sharpen the edges of the Prelude a bit to make it a "zooming" Prelude... :D

1. You already have a prelude, you don't need another one
2. You don't have a Zoom, but you'll probably buy one just to round out your collection to an even number of 38 boats
3. A Cross between the prelude and Zoom would be an even more perfect complement to your boat collection - that would be "two boats in one" so you could say that you now own 40 boats! ;-)

Well done Esquif. Maybe I can get another colour other than purple, when my Spanish Fly wears out!

1) yes I do, but I keep abusing it in really BAD ways lately (like trying to run a slot that's 2 inches narrower :o than the boat... ... leads to a BIG dent in the side and some stress marks in the plastic... ) makes me believe that down the road I will have to replace it.
2) If I really liked the Zoom, don't you think I would have got myself one by now... ... B.T.W. my boat count is nowhere near 38, it's actually 9 right now. Strangely enough my kayakng friends think that's way too many... but what do they know, they are kayakers after all... ...
3) See ny above comment about me liking the zoom...

I'm really impressed by Esquif's full-court press.

Forget the Prelude - I'm stoked that the 'fly series lives on. I like my Skeeter quite a bit, and have always wondered what I would do if I managed to wear it out or break it . . . plastic boats make a whole lot of sense.

p.s. If one wanted a Prelude with a flatter hull and sharper edges, wouldn't that individual be in the market for the Superfly? I guess the pointy ends make some difference.

THANKS JACQUES/ESQUIF!!!!!!!!!! :P
By the way- I put the Esquif saddle in the SF and it is much more comfortable for taller/larger thighed individuals.
The Esquif pump in the boats would be a nice option.

how do you spell relief..."T-H-A-N-K-S J-A-C-Q-U-E-S"

I've been paddling mine like it was glass...
....and that's no way to treat a roto-molded boat.

This is a great move by Esquif. The Prelude and the Spanish Fly are the two best creek boats ever made.

Esquif is really doing a lot to help the canoeing community. Esquif rocks!
