Finally Back in a BOAT!
I was allowed by my PT to get back into my slalom boat for the first time in two months and seventeen days. since my surgery... My PT gave the go-ahead, so I went with his words, and was amazed at how actually hard it was. regardless, It was AWESOME!!!! I haven't been so excited to paddle in soooo long. It was rad. I wasn't able to do a real forward stroke, I couldn't push with my top arm, but i was able to hold it up there, and I was amazed at how low my new saddle is. It's at 3 inches, and my legs were gone after 40 minutes... It was awesomely comfortable. anyhow, I hope all is well, I just wanted to share my excitement with the other single bladers out there.

I also made a blog with recently started updates on my shoulder progress, and paddling/living here in charlotte along with some photos I took in the past few weeks of the races/athletes training here...

food for thought.

Back in boat
Isaac- Congrats! Since I'm in the midst of some snow shovelling related elbow issues, and since my local resevoir finally melted enough to let me do my first real workout since last fall today, I can totally relate in a lesser way. Best O'luck on a speedy recovery....edg
You should have seen him. He was so excited he was running down the hill in flip-flops carrying his pink boat, almost running into a mountain biker. It is going to be very good to have Isaac back in our training group.
He is kind of like having a Labrador in the workout, loves the water, high energy and always happy. Although, as Isaac himself pointed out one day when I told him he was like a Labrador, he does not fetch s*%t.
While recovering, Isaac deserves a huge thank you from those of us whom he has been helping out. Isaac has been serving as part time coach and video slave for just about anybody who wants his help, which has been huge. Thank you Isaac.

thanks alden,
that one turned out very well. I was pretty psyched. I unfortunately didn't get any of you. Sorry, I'll get some at trials. Are you going to be here for the training block before hand?
thanks for the well wishes everybody, I was in the boat again today, and it was so much fun, I got to incorporate pivot turns... not sure how the doctor rates that, but it was on flatwater... I am just amazed at how much harder it is to hold a long paddle, I was using jamie's Raab, and it was super light, and super easy to paddle. definitely a consideration for folks looking for a light deep water slalom feeling blade. it is super small though, but great feel. my G-power was too long and too stiff for my shoulder today. but I am chilling with ice on my arm now, so it's alllll good.
cheers

AWESOME PHOTOS!
Do what the doctor says...
...and your photos are awsome. The Mad River is at 2000+ and those shots convinced me I need to be out there tomorrow.
Surfs up,

Craig, you know how hard it is to be in with the cool kids now. I am just trying to a cooler newer more hip vernacular so all the people here in charlotte wont kill me, they'll just think I'm not from round here...
Thanks Mike, any time in the flirt yet? suppose you don't have much going yet? I may be there for the JO festival thing... will you(craig, i assume you'll be involved as well?) be around Wausau for that?
Openboater- thanks for the comment on the pics, I am working on it, it's been a blast working with world class athletes, they make such a big difference in anticipating what shots I can take...
Thanks for the support everyone.
cheers

Isaac,
I'm itching to get out in the Flirt (have the outfitting in and love the way it feels in the pool)...if it ever stops snowing up here
Spring looks like it's trying to break finally!!!!
I'm definitely hoping to get to Wausau this year. Not sure about that weekend though, but it would be interesting to be there.
Keep me posted if you do head up.
