Floatation vest?
My old Lotus vest is getting a bit worn, it might be about time for a new pfd. Any recommendations?

No question,
Buy an astral PFD, its made in the US by the guy who started Lotus (which no longer exists, Patagonia is cutting the product line). Plus many Astral vests are made of more earth friendly products.
I would get a rescue vest, (learn to use it). Even if you don't plan on rescuing any one, rescue vests can improve your safety if you are in a tight spot (i.e. if your are the victim rescuers can get you out of a pin, foot entrapment, etc. faster).
Astral just put out a new rescue vest (the Green Jacket) but I have not used one. All of there other stuff is really comfortable.
