What about ' Lachines' , I'm not from the great white north, but I hear about kayakers going there. Is it near Montreal? Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia may be worth a visit if not for any other reason than it is beautiful there.

Hi, Insolence,

If you want to discover the rivers around Quebec City or in Maine(USA), I am usualy available during week-ends. Just send me a personnal message. If I am not available, I know a lot of paddlers who could guide you. Here is the web site of my club http://www.rabaska.qc.ca. If you want to rent an OC1 or a C1 in Quebec City, search for "Canot Legare" on Google.

I hear the tidal bore on the Shubenacadie in NS can be fun. Other than that AFAIK Nova Scotia is more about touring than whitewater. Pretty much anywhere is nice for touring but I'll second Craigs suggestion of Cape Bretton Island.
