Get it outta y'all's system now. We ALWAYS have some kind of vehicle story tied in with this weekend. The key bit was from last fall, so does not apply here.

Hadn't fed the monster in a while? :D

I'm leaving late Friday--gotta watch our girls' 4x800 relay team and see if they qualify to go to states. On paper (looking at the teams' entry times), it looks good they'll go. I just gotta stand there with a stopwatch and yell for a little bit.

Point noted about "Al Time" on the river. As always, we'll see how the day unfolds.

I'll be looking for some good advice from my Armada friends this weekend on how to explain to my wife the new additions to the fleet, especially when I'm always whinmiig how poor we are having 2 daughters in college.

It's simple.
The answer to the question "How many boats do you need?"
is
"Just ONE more."

Try these responses....
(when and only if asked.. )

I'm holding that one for "insert name" so he doesn't get in trouble with his wife.

If asked about the other boat (with a straight and surprised look...)

What, the other one... I've had that for a while now. Traded that one for the one I wanted to get rid of. [slowly cock head to side and follow up with] ..... you remeber that, right?

I've found these work... particularly when I insert "Big Al" in the first statement! Hope that helps! Your Pal!

How many pairs of shoes does she have?

Wait! You bought the Fink used right? That's an EXTREMELY rare find.

Don't whine. Or you can cry w/ me. Come fall we'll have 3 daughters in college. The oldest turned down the NC Teaching Fellows scholarship (read "full ride") as she wanted to become a pharmacist. Two years later, she's changed her mind & wants to teach science  As to one of the twins: Congratulations to us, NC State says we're RICH!

Somebody ought to do a sticky post with all these great answer's to a wife's query: "What the fxxk? How can we afford that (or those)?"

Good news and inspiration for me on several levels tho.....The Fink's arriving Ohiopyle as early as tomorrow afternnoon, so....I'm leaving work early, meet up, do a few loop runs and then sme cold ones at the PUB for the Fink deliverer. Probably will meet Kneal at L'il Sandy's in the am Saturday for a Canyon run and then meet up w/u Mystery Squirters.

PAC, ru in the hills Friday night w/the Canadians?

If anyone would like to join up, J (not Elvis), Robert, and I will be at the LY put-in at 10:30 +/- 15 minutes to drop boats and set shuttle. My cell is 240 818 7508. I think it works at the put in and take out (verizon).

As usual, I'm waffling at the last minute about going out there on Saturday. I'm looking to try some squirt boating -- but is anyone bringing a squirt boat?

Who's going out to Fascination Alley and what time are you meeting? Will the level be good?

Does this help??
Sat AM (10:30 - 11) - PS Composite to say Hi to Paul S and MK and get the tour. Skirtworks folks might show too.
Sat PM (1:00 - 2:00) - hit the Alley (Cheat Narrows) for Cquirt. Jim S plans to be there with a few zombies to fall into the trance!
The ceemweaver, an acrobat or 2 (at lease one master cut) and woodie will be there and I'm sure there will be enough time to swap out boats ...as we usually do. My cell 412/310.6039-Paul C.

Well, I managed to survive. That was for fun than a bag full of squirrels.

PAC put together a great trip, it was a pleasure meeting (and seeing again) many of the board members.

Until the next time...
