Wooden paddles are awesome!
4 days paddling, just about every muscle in my body is sore, and none of my usual tendon issues! my (new) old bailey stick is great! can't wait to order a new one made just for me!!

bailey stick
gabe.. i'm glad you liked the paddle. I've been campin out alot and haven't had time to check in with ya..
I'm liking the werner by the way. Definately a huge improvement for me. I think the extra 2 inches made alot of difference..
But take it easy man, Casey

Spoon schmoon! I think the one I have is medium oval. Blade is a little big, but this is the first (nice) symmetrical blade paddle I've used. It's great! Backpaddling is already a little tricky in a c1, so why make it worse by using the backside of a paddle exclusively shaped for forward propulsion?

Shux Louie, backpaddling is an advanced technique, so you might not be familiar with it. And the low brace....well we've all seen the videos Louie. I guess it's like the roll, if you don't got it ya don't try it.Louie wrote:Back paddlin???? Are usin this for raft guidin???? Spoons are tricky for non power face braces, another stroke that would indicate an effort to correct a mistake made just split second before the brace was needed. heck no wonder you swam one rapid twice in the same attempt.

Both Keith Backlund and Jim Snyder make fantastic wooden sticks as well.
Very different feeling from each other, but both absolutely fantastic.
Ever since I got them, my H2O Team seems to be left out of the fun...
TGG!
