OC1 at the Teva Mountain Games in vail

Post by CosmikDebris »

Well, I'd had about enough of all the "pod" boaters thinking they were such hot sht in their stumpy little boats so I decided to represent. I'm not coming out of retirement just yet, but it was way more fun that I'd have had in one of those little turd things. I really did this for Drew Christmas, if you're out there buddy, this bud's for you. http://thegnar.lvmvideo.com

I have no idea why you kayak. You are a great paddler. Nice oc-1 freestyle.

FYI in case some people don't know this is the same guy that canoed the Green Narrows tandem in a 14 ft Mohawk Probe. Will has serious skills.

You make it look easy Will...

You paddle a kayak all of the time now and can jump in an open boat and do that!

Nice boat, I feel like I've seen that somewhere before.

It should also be pointed out that Will did manage to beat two other paddlers (one kayaker and on C-1er) and tie with another kayaker.

I'll tip my helmet to you Will! Great way to have fun! A buddy of mine (kayaker) called me when you were in the hole with that OC to tell me how "way cool" your run was! 8)

The next logical question is when will the Black Fly be coming out in production. There are a lot of light adults, kids and ladies I'm sure would love to paddle that boat! Some old fat guys too!

The Blackfly has always been something I've just done for myself- and to push freestyle OC-1 a little bit. As such, my plug work was pretty fast and dirty and is pretty crude and I'd need to do some considerable cleanup work on it to make it production ready. But if there was a company interested in producing it, I'd certainly be willing to put some more effort into it.

RodeoClown, were you at the Lyon's outdoor games on Saturday June 13th? I was driving through town and saw a short little OC-1 on top of a car, along with some kayaks - couldn't tell what it was but it kind of looked like your blackfly from the video.

If it was you, did you take a spin in the a-hole or blackbear hole and represent?
