glue for Wavesport-Transformer

Post by nam »

Does anybody knows what kind of glue I can use to to glue my foam seat to my T1-c1. I tried contact cement but it did not that well. :(

Hey, i almost finished outfitting my transformer 2 and i used Weldwood from DAP contact cement. you have to wash the surface with acetone on both the foam and the boat and then rough the surface (with steel wool or sand paper - i sued sand paper) and then blow the sand paper debree off with just you blowing and the contact cement should work. other wise you can use a two ton epoxy or regular epoxy or even spray contact cement from 3M..it should work. it worked on mine..send me a private message if you have problems :D

For anythingthat I will be PUSHING onto rather than PULLING off of
I use something from 3M. It's called Scotch-Grip Plastic Adhesive 4693 H. It's basically contact cement from beyond the depths of hades. Once you get it on, it's not going to come loose ever. This is good and bad depending on how much more adjusting you're going to need to do. So be sure with this, because what you've glued in will not come out easily, since it will bond so well. In fact, I had to pull some foam off of my cockpit because I was going to heat it and jack it up so that I could get under it easier, and I ended up leaving a very small section of foam on the boat. In other words, I pulled the foam off of the foam that remained attached to the glue, rather than the foam and glue off of the boat.
Hope that this helps

for the tips. I tried the 3m Scotch Grip adhesive and it worked well. It felt very solid. I also called people from Wavesport, they said Liquid nails also works great too.

Thanks :P

The most toxic type of contact sement you can find, industrail grade.
