heck let go the whole way from the bridge to the bridge, I start slow but finish strong. The issue of pumps could make a differences

Kayak should be allowed but if they want to use their own paddle we need to tape toliet paper to which ever blade they want us too and if the paper is wet at the finish line they are disquailfied

Would really like to get the other canoe co.s invovled Where ya at lets talk and see if we can make this an OC event not just a mohawk event. Hope that all the Companies can come togather and have a real throw down

just make sure there isn't something better like the caney fork running whatever day you're planning the race for. i'd hit to miss the big tellico day two years in a row

Don' t worry Gabe the whole event will be planned around what fit your timeline, we will even change the name for you. Is there anything else you want us to do or change to fit your needs???

perfect! now that you asked, i'd like this to be called the Gabe Hinkley Tellico race. everyone will have to wear a pink helmet and drink a beer at the put in, 2 beers at baby falls (one for each of my swims there my first time down) and one more beer above jerrod's knee. and of course the safety meeting at the beach above the knee will be sponsored by the always generous mike lewis.

I'm in for sure. What a great idea.

My advice: keep it simple and grass roots like the green race. Don't have too many classes. Everyone can race. Any canoe. Any age. Man or woman.

Post the results of all 40 people that race 1-40 based on overall time just like they do for the green race. It will make it look like a much better event. If you want to be 1st out of 40 you'd better bring a long boat!

Then off to the side you can show the results by class: this person won the masters, this person won the juniors, this person won the short boat class, women's etc...

This will be awesome. This is the kind of thing that will get press in the magazines and get people excited about open boating. Also, the potential carnage at baby falls could make some good video!

Most importantly this will be really run.
