remix 69 v 79
many have posted on here that 9 is faster. wondering why they think that? i paddled my 79 with another boater in a 69 and at least floating, 79 is much faster. seemed faster in the rapids, too.
The 69 is supposed to be faster because it's skinnier than the 79. I guess the 79 could be faster because it's longer, though. I haven't paddled either of them, though, so I'm not sure. I would think that a bigger paddler would have better luck in the 79 though, too much weight might just bog down the 69, and a small paddler might find the 79 slow because they couldn't control it.

I've paddled them both and at 170# the 69 is much faster and more nimble but a lot more twitchy than the 79. I'm still trying to make friends with the bulkhead and single thigh straps, but might have to go to double thigh straps to get tight enough to control the responsiveness and my balance on the secondary edge.
