I have tried the Spainish Fly and liked it. They seem hard to find, I tried a Prelude, I believe I would need more time in it. I wish they would make a plastic Detonator?

glad you all like what you paddle - it would really be bad to paddle a boat that sucks; however the question was:

He's a big guy asking for an opinion, from other larger boaters....

l'think L'bigboy is looking for a lg'boat.... not l'fly, ledger, or la'fufu

Merry Friggin' Christmas to you too Phil ;)

Lighten up a little as there was a subsequent question in the thread. It's not like a thread has never been hijacked around here or left the original subject just a wee little bit.

While the weight range for Mohawk boats is not posted on their web site (maybe the reason for the question in the first pleac), I thought he did get answers. I posted that he may be happier in a Viper 12 but should try whatever boat he was interested in before ordering>

I think he got several opinions on the upper limit including input from someone with Mohawk (and usable weight limit is somewhat subjective).

Viper 11 at 210

Post by Wendy »

I found the Viper 11 at 210 pounds to be great till I got to ledges. I know how to boof, but it doesn't boof as well as an OCoee. At ledges I found it much wetter than the OCoee. I am considering a Probe 11-
Thread hijack sort of- Would a Probe 11 be as wet as a Viper 11?

Its all about the angle of attack. to striaght and the stern catches and makes the bow dive to much angle and you land sideways. Be glad to show ya the Tellico is the place to learn the perfect boof stroke

That is the approach I finally used. I just got use to the straight approach with the Ocoee.
