Post by Longboatin »

If you would have at least read some of the post throughout the thread, you would have seen that I said this many times...that i wasnt even close.

Considering most that crowd was rafters... I doubt they see it all the time. - Next time you can show me down the line - you can even put your kid in front again without a helmet if you want. I dunno about tryin to rescue the boat again tho, might want to have Lengthy there.

mmmmmmmmmm....

hmmm...knocked off yer boof line by reactionary wave? Watched vid agin & seen u pull slow out of eddy, go kindy close to church rock, scrape over slightly submerged rock, slam near darn center of hole, take a dive, then roll.

Yarnell right on target when he say success start upstream, cuz that line was weak frum the beginning.

Like i said afore 'bout yer stony boatin. Maybe u need to work on drivin through hydraulics more, seein that u always hittin em then flippin

Oh yeah, feel free to bring up my apparent major indescretion 4 the year in response to this, but i havta say yer the one puttin yerself out here for critique, u gotta learn to accept positive & negative response to ur material.

When you're paddling a C1 it isn't a skirt. It's a kilt.

kilt lol. there ya go.

longboatin - i can take positive/negitive critique. see Cross Forward J stroke... I put myself out there all the time to hear it. It's tough wadding through the BS here though, meaning - advice thats hardly advice. Lotta folks just want to post for the sake of posting, don't get me wrong... i can do it sometimes too.

Also hard to take critique from someone who starts a post with "sorry to harsh your mellow". i won't bring up the savage thing again - you get a get out of jail free card with that, cuz some would never let that go.

I'm not sure whether or not I want to hit the boof line how it's suppose to be run the next time i'm out there... or whether I want to just smash through the center like in the video again... to see if I can muscle myself through, as I'm sure I'm going to have to make a 'move' similar to that at some point and time during my paddling career. Oh decisions decisions.

um one more thing not sure about the dive into the roll I think you could have done a little more to actually stay upright ie a X forward stroke or just snapping your hips back towards onside if I commit to a roll like that i would opt for a back deck roll but I pretty much try as hard as I can not to flip (why I don't playboat much) so I don't use back deck rolls to often i dunno just something to think about not trying to rip you apart just another observation :D

I did try to forward stroke to maintain balance... you can see it in the video. I think what happen was that the boat was already starting to flip to off-side so, I missed the water with the stroke.

As for backdeck roll, I'm currently working on obtaining a BD roll. It shouldn't take too long to have it down. Part of me is hesitent to put it into play, because I have a roll right now that I don't miss. So why complicate the matter... i dunno. what are you're thoughts
