NetFlix does not appear to have White Water Rebel, though they do have "White Water Summer", surely an overlooked classic...

Could that be a canoe going over a falls :

Netflix also has Same River Twice... which I highly recommend for some good rafting carnage and if you're ever been on the Grand Canyon, Salmon and or multi-day raft supported overnighter, you must see this movie. They do a great job capturing group dynamics and the individual differences between paddlers and their styles.

I watched 'Same River Twice' not too long ago. It's not that bad and does have some pretty good footage. For anyone else who has been on the MFS and seen the movie: Did you think that maybe that was shot on the South Fork Salmon and not the Middle Fork?

There is also a documentary by the same name, but that one looks even worse.

I know I'm getting off of cboating here, but has anyone seen 'The White Mile'?

Seems like most rafting movies involve people dying for some reason.

Of course 'Damned River' is still probably my all-time favorite.

Let us never forget Deliverence, the greatest canoe movie of all time. As strange as it sounds, that was a big motivator to get into canoeing.

Well "A Glorious Way to Die" doesn't directly have a death, but involves dealing with grief in the aftermath of a rafting accident, by rafting the same insanely hard gorge (in slightly lower water), building a memorial part way down, building a sauna, drinking vodka, and hitting each other with birch saplings...

It captures the slight insanity of post-soviet russia, the more permanent aspects of russian culture, and some very hardcore rafters perfectly.

Whitewater Rebels

Ahh- All the people who taught the people who taught me to kayak, filmed on what I still consider my "home" river. No wonder I migrated to c-1....edg

Just finished watching it on YouTube. Great movie. It really has a Scooby Doo feel to it. I almost expected Mr. Divine to say "And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for you meddling paddlers!" Of course, Daisy Duke was sweet to the eye.

Watched this on tv when it first showed. Thought it blew from the seal-launch (previously mentioned) to the end with the K-1 black paddler gang getting its collective butt handed to them by a single-blader.

Remember reading that the stunt coordinator (Dean Raphael Ferrandini-listed in the credits as Brolin's double) did the same job in the movie about D.B. Cooper with Treat Williams that included a sequence with rafts in whitewater. Used cables to "stick" the boats in holes. Lots of bogus large steaming pile of dog doo.

IIRC, the seal-launch scene involved a set of rails with the C-1 attached to the sled attached to the rails!!!

Though it was obviously very cheesy, i still liked it. And yes, Daisy Duke is way hot. The perfect co-star.
