I agree on the caption, and you may be able to get away with a vertige, not the vertige X, but the regular. they have a lot of buouyancy. I don't know if I'd want to go that much shorter with 365. I think someone said it, but the xl13 may fit the bill. I know you want shorter, but i don't know, i feel that much shorter than that and you'll sacrifice maneuverability to have the length... I felt that the vertige with 330 was great, I weigh 210, and my girlfriend made of the latter part, the weight distribution is great, and the boat tracks well. but it's not the most maneuverable boat on the market.
race boats are so fast, i bet its in the speed wing.

I just checked my maths, and I cocked up my stone to lbs convertion (I usually think in Kg which is a simple times 2.2, but my potential partners don't), the paddler weight is more likely 300-325lb... If that affects the reccomendations.

In defense of the Vertige X, my Instructor Trainer paddled one with a triple saddle for our workshop. We had one participant trying to certify as a tandem instructor, so she switched back and forth between tandem and solo. She's probably 5'4" and a normal-frame, athletic woman. She was able to get the Vertige X to do anything I would expect a long solo WW boat to do. Yeah, she's a great paddler (but spends a lot more time in a kayak than canoe), but I was impressed with the flexibility of the Vertige X none-the-less.bearboater wrote:try and hop in a vertige, and at that weight, I think that if you were really close, you could paddle most things.
