Help outiftting a Jackson Shooting Star for C-1

Post by yakmom »

Ocoee Chapelle (seth's little brother) would like help outfitting his Shooting Star.

Any ideas? or volunteers to help him?

he has taken the seat out - but we are not sure where to go next ....and I'm not very handy with tools/outfitting. (Seth's outfitting won't work as he uses an old Dagger saddle)

The boat is very small.

Thanks,
Sheila

Hey Sheila, is he (or you) comfortable w/ a lap-belt? If so, that's the easiest. That said, if he doesn't have a bombproof roll, don't do it. I'd go w/ a pedestal & bulkhead. Make the bulkhead come high enough on his thighs to keep him in the boat, yet still make it easy to get out.

Here are pics of my old Forplay: http://cboats.net/c_db/list.php?type=5& ... me=Forplay I'll have my Big EZ at the Armada this weekend (same outfitting) if you want to check it out.

Bring some foam if you want to outfit it Friday or Saturday night. Let me know if you want to do this & I'll bring a saw, tape & Weldwood. I'll be on site 77.

Sheila... you and the clan going to be at the NBofP release this weekend (4/30). We'll be there with the Cboats Armada. So there will be a ton of different configurations available to look at and try out. I might not be there at the camp fire Sat night (have to be back in Pittsburgh (but might come back if the Savage is running on Sunday)) but I'm sure you could get a LOT of help there (after Fox's Pizza).

i'll bring his boat along. Ned Poff is going to give us some help with it thursday night at the Chute-Out and maybe we can get some more help over the weekend.

We have some foam in the attic but most is Seth's which he will need for his new boat.

His kayak roll is bombproof - as is his kayak hand roll. I'm not sure about C-1 as he has only paddled Jordon's old boat a couple years ago.

I'm not even sure what he plans to use for a paddle.

He will continue to creek in his Sidekick - kayakstyle

this will be his playboat and class 3 boat
