New 3 piece canoe paddle
If this comes off as spam I'm sorry but I think this could help the open boat community .
Its a new 3 piece canoe paddle that isn't a P.O.S. Select is making it.
It's bomber and tough. Most breakdown paddles I have used , I thought made it even more unsafe to use due to their Mickey Mouse design. You were better just walking off the river. This will get you to the takeout or you can use it for your primary paddle.

Spam? No... but you'll have to endure comments though.
Bomber? Hardly.. I've seen the shaft wall thickness, very thin and the blade has little catch. It looks like it would make a nice back up paddle though. Its much nicer than the crappy two piece I currently have tucked away in my boat. Are you providing the warranty through your shop or will claims have to go through Select? That was a huge issue with the shaft failures in the past. Glad to see Select took my suggestion with the break down paddle idea, it is a good one.

For me; boating brings me closer to to something divine, and in a open canoe I'm 8 Inches closer.

Shep it's a really nice Breakdown, best one I've came across, and I don't work for Select paddles, WRWW, Esquif, Ophian paddles, I just an average Joe boater.

We're watching this post...
And for the most part who is sponsored by who IS listed now, and yes, that includes SmurfWarrior:)
There's nothing wrong with anyone stating a strong opinion of theirs, as long as they (and others) realize it's just that - their opinion.
Cumnock has his store, we're aware of it, and he has chosen to help sponsor this site, so a new product posting we may be interested in occasionally I have no problem with.
There are other folks who promote their products much more here that don't even do that. In the spirit of promoting boating overall I've always let that pass. At some point that may have to change.

<edited> The L'Edge comments were out of the blue, but I do really really like that boat. Even though, I put a guy in one this weekend specifically to talk him out of that and into a Vertige, which he liked. To characterize my comments about the L'Edge as being crazy, like suggesting it as a tandem, is juvenile and made me laugh.
Did you guys miss the part of my post where I thought it would make a good back up paddle?

i actually look forward to seeing one of these 3 piece sticks in person ... they look like they would be bomber
(EDIT: i might be a sponsored paddler with Select Paddles but i wont tell you what i think of a paddle without trying the paddle first) (with that being said ... i cant tell you anything about their kayak paddles as i dont know what to do with the spare blade at the end of the shaft)

Had a chance to see Bob's (horizongfx) this weeksend, and it looked pretty sweet. It features a different locking mechanism, which looks promising. And breaks down into equal lengths, which other makers don't always get right. The blade is a little funky, but had a reliable looking shape. Would like to try it out, as it appears to be a trust worthy design. But like said, I didn't actually put it to use.horizongfx wrote:Shep it's a really nice Breakdown, best one I've came across, and I don't work for Select paddles, WRWW, Esquif, Ophian paddles, I just an average Joe boater.
