Roll Instruction

Post by JoeCanoe »

Is there anyone in the carolinas or tennessee who offers roll instruction for canoes? Looking for someone with a proven track record who is patient enough to work with women and children.

I'm no instructor & don't have any certification. I've taught folks to roll though. I'm at Weldon most afternoons during the week. Let me know if I can help.

At one time I believe Richard Guin (2opnboat1) said he offered instruction in the Chattanooga area, but when I sent him an email I didn't get a response. Perhaps he will chime in here.

I too would be interested in trying to resurrect my OC-1 roll and would be willing to drive to the eastern/TN western NC area.

I am interested in setting up a rolling clinic in the Asheville area. My availability is limited until after Labor Day, but we might be able to fit in a day before I fly to Wyoming on the 7th of August.
Please send a message if interested.
Cheers,
Eli

Eli, my schedule is fairly open these days, and if others were interested I would be able to make myself available to fit their schedules either before labor day or after.

I am open those days prior to Labor Day. Kimmie is interested. Let's get some dates and call Eli.

I think Ed Daugherty is going to put together a roll instruction clinic, too.

Roll instruction

I'd be happy to do a clinic in the next few weeks, if Eli's dates can't work out for you. I've been teaching open boat skills at various levels since 1984. Let me know if you want to talk offsite about details. Ed

Roll Clinic on Wed?

Post by Eli »

I don't know how full everyone's summer schedules are, but I am available to work with folks on their canoe rolls on Wednesday. I could probably make another day work before I fly to Wyoming on the 7th of August if there is enough interest. Alternatively, suggest an alternative date; I will be available again after the 24th.

Anyhow, if interested in a rolling clinic in the Asheville area on Wednesday, you can register via my website and I will send you more information: www.TheCanoeGuru.com

Thanks,
Eli

This may be over kill at this point but I will say that Eli spent a week teachning me to paddle. He is not only a world class paddler but also a world class instructor. If I could make it back that direction for the clinic I would be there in a heart beat.
