A better question: What boat do you paddle 90% of the time

Back on topic, which as i recall was what boat you use, if I'm not flatwater it's always a C1. Yes, less C1 (and C2) out there than open boats, it's been that way a long time. What has changed I think, in part due to excellent new designs (like the L'Edge) is the class of water folks paddle in their open boats. And that's a good thing. Where folks might have gone to a C1 to step up their paddling, their continuing on in an open boat because they can now. Folks like Craig and Jeremy (and the entire Esquif crew) deserve a lot of the current credit for where OC boating is headed. To get us to where we are now though I think a tremendous amount of credit goes to Frankie Hubbard.

River is coming up again with Lee passing through... perhaps I'll finally break the Finkenmeister in...as long as to many roads don't wash out (as they did with Irene).

Personally I have no desire to run steep hard technical water in a C1... none. They sure are fun for slalom, general river running and playboating though.

This summer was so busy here at Esprit that I spent about 90% of my paddling days in a 14 ft SOTAR Elite ST.
And I loved it!
Other than that I got out in the Sith, Groove, Ceemweaver, Acrobat, Prelude, Outrage Spanish Fly, L'Edge and while in Germany in the Force, Meltdown, and CU-Fly.

I only have a Viper 11, so I only paddle a Viper 11. But I wish I had a plastic creeker like a Blackfly Option, cuz its sweeeeeeet.

i have 8 boats and truely only paddle three lately boat list mohawks maxim and viper 12 ,blueholes 2 sequels one still brand new , 17 ft ww tandem , a perception nantahala ,and two butt boats. paddle the maxim 75percent,sequel20 percent,and the viper 5 never had thought about it untill now.

Tenzing you should consider duct taping the hull and randomly tape the bags....its all about "the future" of boat fashion or the lack there of.

An option would be sweet on you. I saw some rather nice lines out of Jeremy this weekend at the Beaver.

6 boats, 4 OCs, 1 C1, 1 butt boat.
After my doctor released me from my November neck surgery I started with a Dagger Reflection 16 in the lakes.
Next I paddled my Mad River Outrage X until it started to leak.
Next I paddled an Ocoee. It absolutely sucked.
Had to have another boat. Bought an Esquif Paradigm. Really love this boat.
