what, exactly, do you need? it isn't hard to get the parts yourself and link them together.

I just bought an Esquif Detonator and since I'm gonna spend a lot of time "upsidedown, then right side up" in it, I thought I should get an electric bilge pump installation kit in it... Esquif sells its "kit" for around "$300" but I think therre's got to be a cheaper way to outfit your canoe with an electric bilge pump! Am I wrong??

Totally. I'll help you out and sell you my special budget kit for $200. :D

Actually, there are some build threads in the C Forum. It's easier to do than you might think. It depends on how polished you want it. I've slapped a fugly one together the morning of a trip in 30 minutes. Search a bit and post (or even pm me) if you have questions. Glad to help.

I followed these directions (but used only one pump). Easy to follow and works well. Roughly $100 in parts (several years ago).

The website mentioned by Ray has moved to:

http://jtkcanoes.weebly.com/products/

It also lists a lot of questions about batteries and the maintenance required for an electric bilge pump system.

Here is one tip - keep your SLA batteries fully charged in storage and between trips. This will increase the life of the battery at least 50%.
