Chrome L'edge! Sweet ride.
Craig smerda always has the coolest coloured boats, so a buddy and I thought we'd out style him by chroming my L'edge! I'm pretty sure I've voided any warranties and it also sticks to rocks, reminds me of the old days trying to run rapids in a grumman. once the chrome wears off the bottom a bit it should be alright.

Make denim airbag protectors
And if you put a black stripe on it, it will look like an aircraft from the 50's - look at the F-86s

I oughta delete all posts referencing this photo as being photoshopped.
It is SUCH a cool image.
Can somebody actually do that? Make the boat, not the photoshop image.

Lot's of chrome parts on cars are made of plastic these days. I'm almost certain that a chrome L'Edge could be done, though it just wouldn't last...KNeal wrote:I oughta delete all posts referencing this photo as being photoshopped.

Vacuum chrome plating. It's not a simple process that can be done at home, it is done in a large vacuum chamber by evaporating the metal. But I'm quite sure I've seen some kind of paint that looks almost as if the thing was chrome plated. Neither would last on a whitewater boat but it could be fun. Too bad this one is not real. A year ago I was thinking about buying an old 'glass Vydra (one of most widespread canoes in former Czechoslovakia, quite futuristic shape), painting it hi-gloss white with wide black stripe at the seam and adding some signal orange to make it even more futuristic, like something that belongs to space, not on the river. Then I realized how silly it would look when loaded with quite antique camping gear, a guitar from the 50's and me dressed in checkered flannel shirt and blue jeans
