wheelboy report - kinda short
Just watned to say 'thanks' to Martin for letting us try his Wheelboy at the Gull yesterday. I know I don't have to convince anyone who reads this board what a great boat it is. I was amazed at the speed and stability. A buddy of mine who's probably a bit outside the weight range tried it, he's looking forward to seeing the Bigboy in plastic.
Great boat Marko!

Martyn, you are welcome. There awas a lot of interest in the wheelboy there at the Gull river where I paddled last weekend, at least five guys were trying it out, and all of them liked it a lot, even Martyn's buddy who is 40 lbs over the wheelboys wheight limit looked good in it on the wave and in the small hole.
Most open boaters and C1er had heard of the boat before, but countless kayakers were looking at it and asking questions about the boat and the manufacturer.
There is definitely interest in the Wheelboy up here!
cheers!

Had the Wheelboy at the Gull again today, and 2 more c-boaters tried it, Hutch and Al.
Surprise surprise, both of them really liked it and had huge grins on their faces when they got out!
Both said that the wheelboy is much better than their conversions, even though one of them, Al, is over the limit for the Wheelboy and would have been be better off in a Big Boy!
Marko, I think you really need to make that Big Boy in plastic, there seems to ba a market among the bigger guy's out there!

Great !!
nice to hear paddlers like the boat. I hope we can finance BB in plastic but it needs like 200 preorders before there is any sence making it economically.
I think we can do it

BB in plastic
Just hypothetically speaking here Marko,
For a person of my stature, 6-2 215ish w/o gear,
the Big boy would be a a fun boat to try out, but i havent delved into glass/carbon much, and so how long again hypothetically would it be to get a bigboy in Plastic? In other words, how many of those 200 orders do you have? Not that im willing to buy one right now but i am super interested.
cheers

wheelboy
screw the BigBoy! the wheelboy needs to come out in a smallboy edition ! You big guys can still use the normal wheelboy, but us light weights can't even get the bow under.
Other than that fact, it is a nice boat.

small boy
its not getting the bow under, its the paddling in between sets that concerns me, and general movement.

The Big boys are landing n the US today- but still need to go through customs.
Happy to let people try the boats out and see if there is a market to a, keep it in glass, or b fulfill enough orders for plastic.

Big Boy
Yep.
Big Boy, Sith, k55 (kayak) and wheelboy-
I'm pretty sure I'm getting a trailer this week
I'm not sure if I'm paddling yet I actually looked up an orthopedic surgeon Tuesday, and I'm trying to decide if I wait till next year, with a better insurance package, or go ahead and get my shoulder checked out now- Its been tingling for the last few weeks, I can paddle fine on vitamin I but I'm sure this is not the best thing to do-
I'm thinking about only paddling rivers with easy off points for a while, but we'll see- I really want to try the Lower Gauley.

Bogboy out west?
Hey Bill, any possibility of a bigboy out west? Im here in montana, and there are no dealers that i know of near here, however if there would be a way to get maybe a bigboy out to missoula where there are say 14 OC-ers/ 2-5 c1ers, i dont know what i meant by that, but what im trying to convey is that im uber interested to try one.

Big Boy
Hi Isaac,
I couldn't think of a demo program that would be win/win for everyone in terms of using Drakkar owners. (Well I thought of one but was concerned about the program being viewed as having employees, which my tax status is NOT set up for.) So I scrapped the idea.
I'm not sure if this would work for you, but if you can get a few guys together to pay for shipping I'd be happy to send a boat and some skirts that way-though I expect no mediums would be needed) I've never charged for a demo, but I've never shipped a boat either, just for a demo. With four people it would be about $40 each. ROund trip.
I only have one bigboy still available for sale.
I'm open to other ideas too.
