A tip I learned from this website http://www.urethanesupply.com/kcwelder.php
was to sink metal mesh into the area being welded to act like rebar then cover with a layer of plastic welded on top of that. I did that on both side of the bottom weld and its holding really good.

I use the pro model listed above. It was easy after reading the how-to on the website. I know some people use the hot air models but I haven't a clue whats better... this one was easy to use.

i was pretty easy to see how easy you can get the ends under. much easier than i can in my fly. whats your outfitting set up? just bulkhead or do u have some kind of straps?
that thing looks pretty fun....not quite fun enough to cut a good boat up, but a good way to salvage a cracked hull...

Cut the ends down and welded the tops back on.
