Hello all,
I plan to purchase a pair of elbow pads for someone going creeking in CO in the next couple of weeks...does anyone have any suggestions as to which brand holds up the best? I have heard stories of some kinds/brands being sucked off in munchie holes...etc.
Thanks!
Nita

Viper 11 vs. 12
Hello Bill, Personally, I think you should go for the 11. If you felt comfortable in the 12, the 11 will give you room to grow. To me, the 12 seems to be a little big for you. Yes, it may be a little faster but I think you will be able to compensate with more boat control in the 11. Regardless, they...

more paddle questions
Okay...new question. I am finding that the blade of my paddle is rubbing against the hull of my boat a little...which is aggravated by the new presence of my screw-heads on the water line. The screws are my anchors for my knee and thigh straps, etc. Is this something I should be overly concerned abo...

Judd & Alden, I am 6' tall with broad shoulders and long arms. My seat height is 6.5" and the distance from my seat to the top of my shoulder is about 26". I would not exactly say that I am short, nor is my saddle particularly low! Yes, my dislocated shoulder is that of my t-grip arm. I actively kee...

I've got a question for you guys & gals... I still need to make the purchase of a new paddle for my C-1. Is it better to err on the shorter side for "learning with" or should I go with the longer for leverage, etc. ? I paddled a 59" in my OC1 and loved it...now I am looking at a 54" and a 52". I hav...

straps and holes
Hello Drew, I am not as experienced as the rest of these guys, but I just got finished installing a strap system with a Dagger console saddle. The straps I used are Mike Yee's: http://www.mikeyeeoutfitting.com/mikeyee/catalog/cat_page3.htm ...and so far I love them. I set it up to include knee strap...

It's DONE!
Just wanted to update everyone on the joy of finishing the outfitting (at least the major stuff) of my C-1! I ended up installing Mike Yee's thigh and knee straps and am thrilled with the amount of connectedness I feel with the boat. It feels great. I really appreciate everyone's advice and helpful ...

I share Brock's concern although I have just barely started C-boating. Unfortunately, my sloppy habits in openboating are emphasized in my C-1...and I want to make sure I don't learn any new ones! Does anyone know of anything (clinics/instruction) in the SE US...or are there any patient C-1 p...

Hello Anna, I have a Kokatat drysuit and absolutely love it. I wish that I had gotten the "drop bottom"...but they can retrofit those. Not sure how much that option costs initially, but I can assure you it will be worth it. The suit has held up great even with cold fingers trying to yank off tight a...

C1 video
Thanks, Martin! I was hoping there were some specific to C-boating...but I will take what I can get. I am still getting used to my stern...which seems to have a life of its own now that I've switched from an OC1. But it is all good and I am having a blast! :D I hope it is sooner than 6 weeks for you...

C1 videos
This looks like an incredible video... does anyone have any suggestions for other C1 videos? I am looking for just about anything with C1 action, but particularly instructional ones if they are out there. Gotta watch something while my outfitting dries. Yeah, I know...I got it bad.

Lengths
Oddly enough, all three boats (Probe 12, Probe 12II, and the Viper 12) are three different lengths. They are 12’8”, 12’2” and 12’6” respectively. I also think that you can make a boat more edgy if your bring the thwarts in. That may be an option…get the Probe 12II and if it is not edgy enough, short...
